We left after 10 mins because of the bad sound and we didn’t wanna spend extra money at the bar for this bad experience. The speakers were HORRIBLE and most from what I could tell in our area of the bar didn’t work. So we were only able to stand halfway through this narrow bar, couldn’t see the band at all and hardly hear them. But what we got into was a very narrow bar with a jazz band playing at the VERY end where we couldn’t go down, as we were stop half way by a sign saying wait to be seated. Paid $20 to get in and though we would get into a venue with a form of stage where we could stand and watch the band play. I run a business myself and having encountered over the years once or twice a card payment being taken twice or something along those lines I have immediately refunded them / taken the money off their order. ![]() I was pretty shocked and disgusted at the treatment. In the end we had to walk out because it was clear they were not going to help us.Īll they did was make out WE we’re being unreasonable. When I asked for a receipt to be able to do this they said they could not give us one. We showed them clear as day a transaction from their establishment had been taken- how has this nothing to do with them? I understand it was more than likely a mistake but I assumed the rational and decent thing to do would be to minus what they had already taken from our bank account off our bill or to refund the amount they shouldn’t of taken, but no, they continued to say it’s not their problem and we were to contact our bank. We then asked to speak to a manager and he basically said the same thing. We first brought it to the waiters attention and he says that they have nothing to do with it. And then a further 10 dollars before we had even paid the bill. When we went to pay we realised they had already taken 80 dollars from the card. They asked us at the beginning of the night to start a tab and we gave them our card. The drinks took around 25 minutes to come but aside from that it was a great little place. I am leaving a review because I found the service of the waiters/ manager there to be unacceptable.įirstly I shall start by saying the singers/ musicians playing the evening I visited were fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed my night. The waiter was a bit distracted once the place filled up for the second band, but he was very apologetic and brought our orders. This place sells mostly drinks, although they also have snacks for sale (olives, nuts, cheese). The rear half of the venue has standing room. We caught the tail end of the first band and most of the second band's first set, and both bands were really quite good! There are a lot of tables squeezed into the first half of the venue, so it can get a bit crowded if you don't like sitting close to other people, then I would recommend going elsewhere. This place has two bands per night, and each bands plays twice. There's a $25 per person cover charge, but that can be added to an open tab so you don't need to pay for it separately from your drinks. We stumbled across this jazz club while looking for somewhere to listen to live music and to get out of the rain, and had a fantastic time! You need to go down a small set of stairs to a small venue, but the smallness of the venue adds to the coziness of the whole experience. ![]()
